Microsoft Introduces Age of Empires: Castle Siege for Windows Phone 8 Devices

Microsoft plans to offer the benefits of technology for everyone including the core gaming enthusiasts. Recently, in a blog post the Redmond-based technology giant has announced that it will launch the “Age of Empires: Castle Siege,” game title for Windows Phone 8 devices as well as Windows 8 PC in September this year.

The title announced by the company is a touch-screen enabled game in which participants make some trade-offs that can be compared to the Age of Empires titles offered in the past. While playing the game, you can choose anyone from the six civilizations including Britons, Teutons, and Kievan Rus. To be in the game strongly, you also need to fortify at least one castle as well as a surrounding city. Afterwards, you need to train Armies to win over other players’ castles.

However, you will find the game outlook based on Age of Empires art work, yet the game portrays the simpler game play and dynamic style movements of popular mobile titles like Clash of Clans from Supercell.

With the latest Age of Empires version you will also be able to play across platforms on Windows 8 PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Although, you won’t find the gameplay as deep as in the past titles in the franchise, still you can get involved in battles in a shorter time frame. You can also drag paths on a touch-screen to give command to units directly. You can also connect with Xbox Live Friends and thus try to reach at the top of the leaderboards. Now, the game progress will be saved to your Gamertag.

This version of Age of Empires has been created by Smoking Gun Interactive, which has also created titles with Microsoft in the past such as Kinect Doodle Jump, Kinect Adventures, and Mars Rover Landing.
