Samsung finally announces Galaxy Xcover 2 with Android 4.1 and 1GHz dual-core CPU

The Galaxy Xcover 2 smartphone which was long awaited by consumers has been finally announced by Samsung recently. However, the Korean electronics giant has yet not removed the cover on its price and availability. According to reports and rumors, the Galaxy XCover 2 smartphone will reach consumers by February 2013.

The smartphone offers attractive hardware specifications to suit consumers belonging to all categories. The Galaxy Xcover measures 130.5×67.7×12 mm and weighs 148.5 grams. Samsung has provided the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system to run the device which features a 4-inch WVGA TFT LCD display with TouchWiz UI atop. Moreover, consumers would experience quality picture taking with the 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera fitted with the smartphone.

The smartphone features the powerful 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM to run the device in a smooth and efficient manner. Apart from these, you get 4GB of on-board storage that can be further expanded up to 32GB. The smartphone is equipped with a standard Li-ion 1,700mAh battery.

The smartphone provides good connectivity features as well:  Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, A-GPS and Glonass. Additionally, Samsung provides the intuitive Motion UI with this smartphone which enables users to shake and update or turn over the device to mute.

If you are concerned about apps then you would not need to do that because the smartphone comes pre-installed with hosts of proprietary apps such as ChatON messenger, S-Cloud, S Voice, Best Shot, Smart Stay and some other apps from the Samsung Hub such as Readers Hub, Game Hub, Video Hub and Music Hub.
